  • What is Semi-Permanent Make up?

Cosmetic Tattooing, also called Semi-Permanent Makeup or Micropigmentation, is the process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle grouping to produce the appearance of cosmetic makeup or to enhance the natural features of the face.

  • What’s the difference between cosmetic tattooing and standard body tattooing ?

The purpose of Cosmetic Tattooing is to enhance the natural features of a client. Cosmetic Tattooing is softer and more subtle – it is meant to be a natural-looking beauty enhancement. pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the technician to make changes to color and shape over the years as client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur.

  • What is Microblading?

Also known as 3D hairstrokes and semi-permanent makeup. Microblading is the art of applying tiny, individual hair like strokes, following the directional growth of natural eyebrow hair, using a manual tool with fine needles on it and customized pigments. That creates super realistic natural look. The pigment is implanted in the basal membrane which divides the epidermis from the dermis layer of the skin. This method is ideal for individuals who are interested in filling in their sparse or sporadic eyebrows, have recently experienced hair loss, or are looking to streamline their morning routine. It’s an innovative procedure to get that perfect look with no downtime!

  • What is Powder Brows?

The Soft Powder Brow technique uses a machine to apply pigment without leaving harsh lines and creating a more colour-dense, full brow. Tends to last longer than microblading.

Gives more color saturation and intensity.

  • What is Combo Brows?

Perfect combination of natural hair strokes in the front of the eyebrow with a touch of a makeup effect on the tails to give the appearance that the brows are filled in with pencil. This is a great option for someone looking for their brows to still look natural while having a hint of penciled in effect. This is a great everyday look but still looks great when you are wearing more makeup.

  • What is Lip Blush?

It is a cosmetic tattoo of the lips that enhances the beauty of a natural lip color, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fulness. This treatment delivers very natural result once healed. The outcome is a tinted lip balm look that enhances your natural shape while remaining undetectably natural.

Initially, the color will be super vibrant, almost like a lip stain. It is important not to be misled by the immediate after results. Once healed, the color fades approximately 50% and also blends in with the natural lip color.

  • What is Permanent Eyeliner/Lash Line Enhancement?

Permanent Eyeliner frames the eyes and can make eyelashes appear thicker, darker and fuller. It eliminates the need to apply eyeliner. It can enhance the eyes & create more depth along the lashes.

Having lash enhancement/eyeliner done has many benefits: Definition to your eyes; No more smudges, smears, or worn-off eyeliner; Great for people with allergies to cosmetic products; Enhances the lash line, Saves time and money; Great for people with unsteady hands or vision problems; Swim, shower or exercise without the eyeliners running; Fills in thin or light colored eyelashes; Ideal for total eyelash loss due to trichotillomania or Alopecia.

The design of your lash line or permanent eyeliner is based on your individual needs, shape of your eyes, as well as personal style.

  • How many appointments will be necessary?

6-8 weeks after the initial session, a follow-up visit is required to perfect the initial result. (Follow-up visit is usually 2hr) Depending on your skin type, the color will fade by 30-50% from the initial session. Certain areas may not pick up during the first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment color may need to be adjusted, brow thickness, and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch-up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the color for the whole year.

  • Can I get my touch-up session sooner than 6 weeks?

Touch-up sessions should not be done earlier than 6 weeks after the initial session as the pigment color has not fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.

  • How long does each procedure take?

Procedure time can slightly vary depending on each client’s skin type.

The average procedure time is approximately 3 hr including consultation and mapping/pre-draw.

  • How long does the result last?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, it will fade over time and may need a touch-up every 12-18 months. Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), iron deficiency (your body absorbs iron-oxide as a supplement), and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas. Please note that final results can not be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and make any changes necessary.

Applying sunscreen on treated areas will greatly prolong the longevity of the procedure.

  • How does the semi-permanent makeup look immediately after the procedure is done?

Depending on your skin type you may experience minimal redness and swelling. Colors will appear darker and somewhat unnatural for the first few days and then lighten to a more natural look after the first week. Pigment colors can be soft and natural-looking, or a bit bolder and dramatic – we can adjust this to get the perfect look you want. We can deepen the color with additional applications, or lighten the color slightly based on your preferences.

  • Is the procedure painful?

This may vary according to each individual's pain threshold. Most clients feel comfortable during the procedure – you may feel some pressure, pinching or a mild pricking sensation. The face is one of the most sensitive parts of the body.

Prior to the procedure a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetics, however, the pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine, and epinephrine.

After the procedure, clients describe the area as feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.

  • Is it safe?

Allergic reactions to permanent cosmetic procedures are extremely rare. We use medical-grade pigments, disposable sterile needles and latex-free surgical gloves for every procedure. Hygiene is the most important factor!

  • How should I prepare for the appointment?

The procedures require 5-7 days to heal. If you have any special occasions, vacations, etc. please plan ahead! Clients need to refrain from facial treatments, swimming, tanning, exercising, or sweating during the healing period. Do not use serums such as Retinolaround the treatment area for at least a week prior to the scheduled appointment.
